USA: Kara no Kyoukai / Garden of Sinners in February
Dec 14th 12:55 am
Aniplex will bring the Japanese Blu-ray box of Kara no Kyoukai / Garden of Sinners to the Unites States.
English subtitles were already listed before for the set and now it looks like also the bonus material will be subtitled and a translation for the Japanese text in the “Deluxe Visual Chronicle Book” will be supplied in an additional booklet.
Here’s the full information about the release from Rightstuf:
Contains 7 movies, each on its own disc, plus a bonus disc featuring extras and “The Final Chapter,” a bonus chapter created exclusively for this Blu-ray set.
Features new cover art exclusively drawn by series co-creator and artist Takashi Takeuchi and includes a Deluxe Visual Chronicle Book containing staff interviews, all key visuals, illustrations from each movie, and artwork from the DVD packages, plus, exclusive to this North American release, a separate booklet of English translations for the Japanese text in the Deluxe Visual Chronicle Book!
Special Features: The Garden of Sinners: Remix – Gate of Seventh Heaven (highlighted scenes from each movie with music by Yuki Kajiura & performed by Kalafina, subtitled), Special Program “Retracing All Seven Chapters of The Garden of Sinners” (subtitled).
Spoken Languages: Japanese (Linear PCM 5.1 Surround), English subtitles.
Video: 16:9 HD Widescreen, 1920 x 1080p, MPEG-4 AVC.
The Blu-ray box will only be available via Rightstuf for $398.98 (it is listed with an original price of $598.98). The Japanese price is 52,500 Yen, with the Amazon discount 38,497 Yen ($458,292), so it’s “cheaper” than in Japan but still not “cheap” enough for me^^. I speculated before that Aniplex will bring the box sooner or later to the USA, but I hoped that they wait half a year and then make a more reasonable price. At least I often had luck with customs when I order something from Rightstuf, so maybe…

Hmmm, hopefully Kaze will do the same for the german/french market.
But is it only me or does it look like a 1 to 1 tranfer of the japanese Box (not the package) No Dubs instead the same specs as japanese version.
Although the box looks nice.

They just import the Japanese version and Rightstuf sells them, so it’s exactly the same version like the Japanese one, only with an additional booklet with the translation.

Considering how horrible the english Nanoha movie subs were I sure as hell won’t take the risk and spend such a large sum. If they could use the subs by TakaJun though…

Would be a wonder if some “fan”-subber gets the title of an official one. Even though he is fairly knowledgeable about this series (mirrormoon).
Only one I know where such a thing happened was with Stephen and the Manga “BECK”.
